Robert M. Swayze
For more than 20 years Robert Swayze has developed and delivered successful economic development programs and projects in Los Angeles County.
Robert served as Senior Vice President of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation, responsible for all the economic development programs of the LAEDC. Prior to joining LAEDC, Robert was Manager of Economic Development for the City of Long Beach for six years. He also served as Manager of Economic Development for the Community Development Commission of Los Angeles County for more than 10 years
Robert’s projects have been recognized with numerous national and state awards. For example, during Robert’s tenure with the City of Long Beach, he secured the re-designation of the Long Beach Enterprise Zone and doubled the number of hiring vouchers. He also led the successful Boeing C-17 Red Team that extended production of the C-17, which employs 4,000 workers.
While with the County of Los Angeles, Robert led the creation and development of one of California’s largest high tech incubators, the Business Technology Center.
