Mary Nemick

EDRMaryMary Nemick is a communications and public affairs professional with more than 20 years experience developing and implementing communications and public outreach strategies for government agencies, political and advocacy campaigns, non-profit organizations and businesses.

Much of Mary’s career has been working in government agencies, including the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles (CRA/LA), where she served as both Acting Director of Communications and Public Affairs and Public Outreach Manager. She also worked as a communications and public affairs specialist with the City of Long Beach Redevelopment Agency, the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission and the State of Maine.

Mary has worked in the private sector as well, as Director of Communications for APL Logistics, an international transportation company with headquarters in Oakland and Singapore.

In addition, Mary has worked in a press capacity on numerous Democratic campaigns at the local, state and national level. During the Clinton Administration, Mary traveled as a press lead for the White House Press Office, coordinating media access and logistics for the White House in the U.S. and overseas.

Mary has a graduate degree in Urban Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with an emphasis on Community Economic Development. She has also taught classes on government communication and has written articles on coalition
