Vance Baugham
Vance Baugham is the President and CEO of the American Institute for International Development. Prior to establishing AIID, Vance was President of the World Trade Center Association, Los Angeles-Long Beach. The trade centers in Los Angeles and Long Beach provided global outreach for the more than 400,000 businesses in Los Angeles County. He also directed the foreign direct investment program for the County of Los Angeles with its 88 cities and 10 million residents. He was a member of the Los Angeles County Workforce Investment Board, and was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the Southern California District Export Council.
Prior to this Mr. Baugham was appointed by the Governor of Colorado to direct the State’s International Trade Office and was responsible for promoting trade, investment and tourism in the international market. During his tenure this office produced significant new foreign investment, participated in overseas trade shows, and lead trade missions to Asia, Europe and Latin America.
As President of the American Institute for Executive Education, he was responsible for expanding American Institute’s management training and matchmaking to over 1,000 clients in the U.S. and abroad. He worked extensively with U.S. and Russian industry in developing sales, joint ventures and technology transfers
In addition, Vance was a Senior Trade Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce with assignments in Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Los Angeles. Vance’s undergraduate education was in economics and political science. His graduate studies were in economics at George Washington University and international relations at the University of Southern California.
